well they have permanent dye but when your hair grows it's gunna grow your natural hair color so you still have to go for touch ups

It was medium brown..i dyed it once..it turned as yellow as the outside of a banana..dyed it twice...it was light like the inside of a banana...third time...only slightly lighter and i left it in for exactly 90 min. each time!! with clairol born blonde maxi kit...What do I need to use to have bleach blonde hair..white..toner/etc..one my hair grows out...I'm going to dye over it with dark brown for now..SERIOUS help plz please PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks :)!!!

As someone who has gone from dark to light numerous times, there is no easy or fast way to do it without seriously damaging your hair. You need to gradually highlight your hair, once every month or month and a half, and use a reparing regimen (I LOVE pantene's new line of restorative shampoo's and conditioners, they repair up to two years of coloring, blow drying, straightening damage in one month, cheap but FABULOUS). What I use to lighten my hair is Revlon's Frost and Glow. I use it about once a month and my hair is turning a wonderful light light blonde. I know you hate to hear that it will take time, but that is the best answer I can give you. Unless you want your hair falling out, which I have experienced from trying to go from dark to light in one session. Bleach is just flat out bad for your hair.

Actually you really need to give it a rest. Until most of the damage is cut off, you really shouldn't mess with it and neither should a colorist at this point. All that blonde needs to grow out. The only thing you should do to it now is get a toner put on it to get rid of the brassiness. ONLY by a professional. Using a darker color at this time being you have done so much damage to it whether you can see or feel it or not would only bring bad results.

The reason these things would happen is because the hair cuticle is wide open right now. The only thing that is going to help (maybe) is a toner done by a professional and switching to nothing but professional hair color products (redken.com) for hair care needs. Good luck

Okay so i grew up around the cosmetics industry seeing as my father owns loreals southern division. I've been around hundreds of different haircolor dyes, ect. I've dyed my hair MANY times at home in the past. But never have i bleached it...until tonight.

I bleached my hair following EVERY step on the instructions. And guess what happened? Not only is the top of my hair white and the rest a dirty golden blonde color..but i also managed to somewhat fry my hair %26amp; I got bleach in BOTH of my eyes.

I look HORRIBLE and i have to go out to dinner in less than an hour. UGHHH.

This is why its extremely important to go to a professional salon.

And to anyone whose considering bleaching thier hair at home for the first time, who thinks theyre smarter than me...I have a diploma from YALE. Yeah, so it can happen to ANYONE. :[

I just wanted to share my experience. I have to go to a salon tonight to get it all fixed because i start school in the morning.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would bleach their hair--no offense to you at all. Just leave your natural hair color alone everyone. I shudder when I see people with light bleached hair and dark eyebrows. Thank you for sharing this story.

i tried bleach my hair once.

it was terrible.

it went bright yellowy orange and looked like id had blonde hair id set on fire and it'd gone all charred.

ERGH.

but the problem is its growing out now

but i cant dye it any other colours

cause the black will ruin the other colours

so i was talking to my mum about hair colour strippers

and my mum said they turn you r hair white

but my mate told me it only gets rid of the dye thats on your hair

and it goes back to your natural colour

It won't turn it white. it will leave a redish tone to it. Black is the hardest color to get out. But I would do what the box says and wait a week or two and get the color die you want. I love that you said 'pwease'

Best to use a natural dark blonde which will lift the black and change it to dark brown,then depending on your natural colour let the brown grow out.

Colour stippers strip most of the colour from your hair not just the dye, you're mate is wrong.

You could use the colour stripper and dye your hair another shade.

ha. well i bleached my hair (went to friends salon)

because i had to dye my hair black at christmas time because it was purple and blue! lol and out of respect for my grandma i dyed it black...

WELL! bleach was in for 30 min. everything was WHITE! except for where my hair was blue... that part turned GREEN! and the pink that i put in.... in some spots was darker.
