Chemically stripping hair of colour!!?

When you strip your hair of dyed colour, does it make your hair white?

No, it's a process done at the hair salon to remove a colour you don't like. I had it done years ago and then had a dark dye put on.

From what I recall, the stripping was quite uncomfortable though; avoid it if you can!

It doesn't make your hair white. What it does is it strips all the color out of your hair to a certian extent. What I just did to my hair the other day, and I'm a hairdresser, I used a product called RUSK Elimin8. It works great and it keeps your hair soft and it doesn't fry your hair off. After you strip it you have to tone it with the color you want. Please consult with your stylist before you or they do anything.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

if you leave it on to long it will turn white. its normally supposed to be kindof a yellow color

if you are going to strip your hair i would use a bleach bath a combination on bleach peroxide and shampoo, depending on if your hair is really dark apply it and keep checking it until it had come to the shade you want. if your hair is fairly light be carefull as it can damage your hair. it may not send your hair white but dont leave it on for to long, if i was you i would seek proffesional advice.

I had mine done a few months ago, I'd had dyed black hair for years but wanted to go back to my natural blonde. I had it done at the hairdressers and my hair went a gingery blonde and then I had blonde highlights put in. It worked pretty well:)
