i have talked to many latinos who are white..blonde hair and all and when i ask them if they think their white..they respond by saying their latinos and they will never be white...as if the look down on us? what do u think?

LATINO/HISPANIC is NOT a race, it's a culture. Obvisouly, there are Latinos with white skin, blonde hair,etc. just as there are Latinos with black skin etc. Report It

Now, answering your question, I'm Latina(P. Rican). I don't look down on "white" people. Simply,saying I'm Latina and NOT white is the right term. You see, in the USA, to be "white" means you're of complete European descent. Report It

Latinos ARE NOT of complete European descent . We're mixed. I, personally, don't mean it in a bad way. We're just sick of stereotypes and being told by ignorant people(non-latinos)that we're not Latino looking which is completely false. We feel we need to make it clear to people. Report It

well im half latino and half African. jus calling yourself white or black doesnt give you a true identity so i can understand why white latinos dont call themselves white or black latinos dont call themselves black. i think we shud rid of the labeling by skin color altogether. latino just lets you know that the person is from latin ameica but does not specify race. also many latinos are multiracial so its hard for us to really specifiy. i mean my latino side has european, native american, and African roots so it just easier to say im Dominican and Ugandan then to say im white, black, and native american. i see my identity more from what countries i come from not from what my skin color is

Sounds like you could use a little bit more of the experience. Now imagine that if you had that experience FROM WHITE PEOPLE for 10 generations, you might be a little hard on white people, too.

Funny to me how a white guy doens't get the obvious fact of being a minority, doesn't make you 'warm and fuzzY" to the majority who discriminate against you.
